SURGICAL TECHNICIAN PRN for  Eye Surgery Center.– $27.00-$31.00/hr. in Lawrenceville, GA. Surgical technologists (sometimes also called “scrub techs”) work under RN and surgeon supervision. Their primary responsibilities include: Ensuring the operating room and all instruments used in it are sterile, to prevent infection. Setting up the necessary supplies and instruments for the surgery. 

Responsibilities:

This position is split between centralized sterilizing and patient care.  The Surgical Technician will function under the general supervision and direction of the lead surgical Tech and the Nurse Manager provide planned, skilled care for patient operating in accordance with established policy and philosophy;  and to facilitate and effective surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety.  The Central Sterilization responsibilities include all aspects of sterile processing, decontamination preparation, packaging, sterilization.  sterile storage, and distribution of sterile medical devices according to the current AMMI and OSHA guidelines.  Knowledge of AMMI / IAHCSMM documentation for sterile processes.

We have multiple openings.  Responsible for working directly with medical providers to prepare scheduled patients with clinic appointment needs to include exam room preparation and other clinical duties as assigned. OPERATING ROOM, RN CIRCULATING NURSE  (PRN) for Eye Surgery Center. $30.00-$35.00/hr. Monday thru Thursday in Lawrenceville, GA. The RN Circulator plans and performs all nursing care for patients who will undergo surgery and other invasive procedures. They provide nursing care from assessment to outcome evaluation.

Responsibilities 

Functions under the general supervision and direction of the Nurse Manager to provide planned, skilled nursing care for patients in the operating room in accordance with established policy and philosophy.  Assists surgeons in the operation theater. The operating room nurse hands the doctors all the equipment they require in the surgery.  The tools used must be cleaned and sterilized before the operation by the nurse. The nurse double checks before the operation whether all the required equipment is present or not.  They also prepare the patients before the operation.  Participates in all phases of education, maintenance of records, and upgrading of policies, procedures, and skills of personnel as directed and needed.  The schedule for this position is Monday through Thursday varying days, no nights weekends, starting at 6:00 am.  

Qualifications

Education: Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing.  Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia. 

Experience: Must have three (3) years of RN experience in a surgical setting.  

Licensure: Currently licensed in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse.  BCLS and ACLS certification within 180 days of employment. 

LPN PRE-ADMISSION TESTING (PAT) NURSE for Eye Surgery Center in Lawrenceville, GA. -$22.00-$26.00/hr. Part Time, Monday- Thursday 9am-3:30pm. As a Pre-admission testing nurse or PAT nurse, your duties include overseeing intake, during which you perform an initial physical assessment and interview the patient to obtain their medical history. You also perform any tests the surgeon has ordered, such as an EKG, and you may be expected to draw blood for lab work.

Responsibilities:

  • Practice appropriate telephone and patient triage skills, being aware of the need to balance quality care with efficient use of time and resources.  
  • Verify patient’s identity and planned operative procedure.  Perform verbal assessment with patient prior to admission – via telephone, communicating information to appropriate team members.  
  • Complete follow-up phone call to patient next business day per established standard.  
  •  Possess a good working knowledge of nursing theory, practice, and legal aspects of nursing, and techniques, care and use of equipment used in an ambulatory surgery center PreOp and PACU setting.

PreOp Responsibilities: 

  • The nurse checks the patient chart while noting accuracy of procedures, consents, allergies, history and physical including updates of medications and any change in patient condition and assists surgical personnel, by starting IV’s, giving medication per policy, and giving accurate report to circulating nurse.  

PACU Responsibilities: 

  • The nurse provides constant evaluation, observation, and treatment of patients per policy and physicians orders, provides comprehensive discharge instructions, removes IV’s, and safely transports patients to caregiver transportation. 
  • The nurse maintains patient safety and is responsible for proper documentation at all times.

PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT for Orthopedic practice  in  Atlanta area. -$100,000-$115,000/yearly.  Salary depend on experience.   PAs in orthopedics take on many duties that physicians also handle, but there are some limitations on what they can do. One of the primary duties is seeing patients to take the patient history and perform physical exams to diagnose the problem. This might include ordering or performing diagnostic procedures and interpreting those results. You’ll also maintain patient records based on your interactions. Some issues don’t require surgery and instead can be treated with other types of therapy. The PA might perform those procedures, which make include apply braces or splints, putting on casts, giving injections and prescribing or administering medications.
